My belief system leans to a moderate side

PARENTAL RIGHTS

Parents must be able to trust our schools again. Teachers are not psychologists. Those in our district I have spoken with heavily believe that the teachers need to begin strengthening our children's skills in Reading, Writing, and Math in order to compete in the world.  Specific curriculum and syllabus must be transparent and readily available to parents and guardians to view at any time. Teaching our children how to critically think vs. what to think must be our first agenda. Giving parents access to the school teachings is so important to the success of the student. It all starts at home!  I am a mom that homeschooled my children.  I strongly believe in choice when it comes to where, and how our children are taught. Again, parental rights are of the utmost importance for our future generations. We do not need CRT, SEL, radical protesting lessons and personal pleasure classes for our children behind our backs at every turn.

ENVIRONMENTAL EQUITY

I am an avid gardener and I keep livestock.  I love to fish, forage and hunt our beautiful land and sea here. I enjoy the opportunities that a vast shoreline bring such as kayaking and swimming.  My kids grew up making footprints in this sand. I believe we must sensibly protect our precious state from pollution and destruction. Requiring our citizens to stop using wood as a heat source, and forcing them to purchase a new electric powered heating system or requiring landscapers and homeowners and farmers purchase NEW electric lawn mowers, tractors and vehicles is neither practical nor is it feasible for a majority of us. We are not ready for this, and our grid is not either. Yet it is being forced upon us at every turn no matter the imminent failure and economic peril. I share your concerns that many will be left behind, underwater financially and quite perhaps literally out in the cold.  Rhode Island must not force it's citizens to carry this heavy financial burden on their own because a few wealthy and out of touch politicians say it has to be done. We must all unite together to discourage the 2030 agenda that will cripple our economy and I will fight to eliminate this! 

STRENGTHEN SMALL BUSINESSES

RI has some of the harshest and most unfriendly commerce regulations and taxation.  These regulations have proven to do nothing but stifle small businesses. Small business contributes to our economy and tax base very heavily. In these past few years small business has stagnated and many have died. We need to encourage small business to thrive. Small business moves our economy! Having my own small business has given me the understanding to enable us to move forward and get prosperous!

TRANSPARENCY & ETHICS

We have a major ethics issue here in Rhode Island. Everyone should have an open door policy here in our state.  Citizens have the rights to attend government and school meetings of all kinds over concern for their town, city & state activity. Even the smallest of changes should be advertised to all involved.  There should be no favoritism towards one person or group or another. Verbatim meeting notes and video should be available to all concerned.  Proposed laws and referenda should be broken down to normal layperson language. I want to make sure that people know what is happening to them and how this effects their family, their school, their taxes, or any other important issue that these decisions effect. Ask me how to see the current legislation passing through the statehouse.  Ask me about the bills. I am happy to help you look them up, or learn how to fight against them.  You will be in good company.  You will not stand alone.

GUN SAFETY & SECURITY

My stance is to follow the 2nd Amendment in that gun rights for a law abiding gun owner should not be infringed. I hold a strong belief in that mental health is the true issue that our country is avoiding.  Our society is becoming less and less civil with lack of respect, mental health, and overuse of violent video games being one of the largest contributing factors.  With recent cuts because of “Defund The Police” efforts the 2nd Amendment has become more important to law and order than ever before! I believe that we need to get back on course and normalize concealed carry for everyday law abiding gun owner citizens, and crime will pretty well curtail itself. All schools should be protected as well. Our children are more precious than anything and we should guard them with more protection and security than any jewelry store filled with diamonds.

Upon reading this commentary on some current issues we have been facing here in RI, my greatest hope is that you will Vote for me, as your level headed voice in the state house.
